It is compatible with most downrod style fans, but not recommended for hugger style fans.

The remote controller has a light dimmer function that works with incandescent light bulbs and some dimmable LED lights. However, most LED lights and all CFL lamps are non-dimmable, in which case the light dimmer will only support ON/OFF operation, and may cause flickering. The green luminous button on the remote helps you find it in the dark.
